True, but just recently for example AVG Free Edition literally killed tons of Windows 7 machines due to an buggy update which caused W7 to reboot into an endless loop. The AVG team got hit by an outcry from angry and desperate users in their forum. I don?t want things like that happen to my mac, i bought one to not have to bother about those issues.

Here's other point of view: I want to use OSX in everyday use (Safari, Mail, iTunes, graphic design, Dreamweaver etc... and OSX overall). But sometimes I want to play games too, and it's awesome that nowadays it's possible to boot into Windows and play games there and then boot back into OSX. Are you saying that Apple should totally forget all users who would like to use OSX but occasionally play games on Windows, and let them buy PCs? Most of the gamers do not use their computer ONLY to play games. Consumer tower would be good for Apple to get new switchers and get more marketshare.

I don't think Apple will ignore the sub-Mac-Pro headless market forever. I think something is coming to fill the gap. I just don't know when :)

Apple owns iphone.org (ownership info) (http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.iphone.org). It just mirrors their homepage, but has a different IP. It appears they've owned it for a while. Is this old news?

ps. Apple might choose to make a phone with no music capability... just to delineate the product. That gives people something to understand... and then they can release the combo products.

Dyslexia at work. Laptop processors are directly soldered to the LB to keep the profile slim, iMacs & minis socketed.

You're wrong. The promotion is for ANY mac before September 16, as Nuks said. They can't (and won't) change the terms of the promotion before it expires.
I'm planning to order a MBP and a nano right after Paris. If MBPs come out before Paris, I'm still going to wait to see if they revise the nano...that would make up for the 3 months of waiting to get the MBP.

i'm still baffled why nobody's answered my question. anyone with a g5 powermac upgrade to an off the shelf video card yet?
i wonder about video card compatibility because i don't see a single driver on nvidia or ati for mac. and the specifications for the 1900 xfx and nvidia 7950 both don't even list mac compatibility. this is really making me think twice about buying from apple.

The way the equation is written, this question simply does not make sense. Parenthesis or something similar are needed to make this equation solvable.
You say you are fluent in mathematics, etc, but fluency requires proper syntax, which the equation simply does not have. If a professional gave me this problem to solve I would call them an idiot.

I'm waiting for a hardware refresh that upgrades the display on the 13" MBPs, the current resolution is just too huge for such a small display :'(

Nice specs on this machine. Exactly what I've been waiting for. I purchased my 1.33GHz G4 iBook one year ago just to get into macs, and see if I liked them. Stellar machine, so I'm looking forward to move up to the big kahuna and play around with things like FCP, etc.
I will likely wait a month or so while the dust settles, and monitor the situation. Nice to see the price drops in displays as well. Everytime I look at the 30" display at the store I cant seem to walk away :)

Note that MS is dropping the standalone Zune hardware, and moving the Zune interface into Windows Phone 7.
The Zune was a market flop though, and MS need to focus their efforts if only tp stop the shareholders from getting antsy.
If your phone can do it all, why make standalone music players?
Because there will always be cases where for whatever reason one might not want or need a phone.

Makes sense in that apple could control their own destiny in chipsets and CPUs, but it just seems like the PowerPC days all over again.
